Light Reading Names Ethernet Alliance Participants among Top 10 “Optical ...

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The Ethernet Alliance ®, a global consortium dedicated to the continued success and advancement of Ethernet technologies, announced today that three of its member company experts were named as industry influencers in Light Reading’s first-ever “ Top Ten: Optical Networking Movers & Shakers ” list. Among the 10 “movers and shakers” are John D’Ambrosia, one of the founders and current chairman of the Ethernet Alliance, and engineering technologist director, Dell; Glenn Wellbrock, director of Optical Transport Network Architecture and Design, Verizon; and Chris Cole, director of engineering, Finisar.

Number four on the list, John D’Ambrosia was hailed by Light Reading for his efforts in higher-speed Ethernet. Calling it “instrumental”, the publication recognized him for his work in 100Gbit/s standards generation, as well as advancing 400Gbit/s or 1Tbit/s technologies. Claiming the number one ranking was Glenn Wellbrock, who was lauded for his role as the industry’s leading next-generation network evangelist. Chris Cole, ninth on the list, was honored for his “strong voice helping to shape the next generation of optical technologies.”
